A$AP Rocky has shared his reaction to his guilty verdict in Sweden.
The Harlem native and his two co-accused were found guilty of assault by a four-judge panel in Sweden on Wednesday. At his concert in California last weekend, A$AP Rocky asked his fans to pray for him because he does not want to be convicted and face more jail time across the pond. The good news for him now is that he will not have to do more time behind bars after a judge handed down a suspended sentence, meaning he will not have to serve any more time.
“I AM OF COURSE DISAPPOINTED BY TODAY’S VERDICT,” he wrote in a message on IG. “I WANT TO SAY THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF MY FANS, FRIENDS, AND EVERYONE WHO SHOWED ME LOVE DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. IMMA KEEP MOVING FORWARD. THANK YOU TO MY TEAM, MY MANAGEMENT, ATTORNEYS, LABEL AND EVERYONE WHO ADVOCATED FOR JUSTICE.”
Despite not getting any more jail time, Rocky is not completely off the hook. He will be required to pay some fees and fines for restitution towards his victim and court costs. The amount of fees and fines are not yet known, but he will not have to return to Sweden to pay those.
