Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
Grammy-nominating rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside a clothing store in Hyde Park, just south of Los Angeles. NBC News broke the story late Sunday Eastern Standard time that the Victory Lap rapper was shot multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The full details are still sketchy, but multiple publications confirmed that the Crenshaw rapper was shot along with two other men. He later died from his injuries, and the condition of the other two men are unknown.
The shooting took place at approximately 3:20 p.m. while Nipsey Hussle was standing The Marathon Clothing Company, a store that he owns in the 3400 block of Slauson Avenue. The last tweet that Nipsey sent out was just minutes before he was shot. “Having strong enemies is a blessing,” he wrote on Twitter.
Nipsey Hussle is survived by his girlfriend Lauren London and two children. The rapper and the actress had a baby boy born in 2016.
Last year, he received a Grammy nomination for his latest album, Victory Lap, for Best Rap Album. He has collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Konshens, YG, Puff Daddy, CeeLo Green, and more.
Nipsey Hussle was age 33 at the time of his death. Rest in peace.
Having strong enemies is a blessing.
