Meek Mill is not switching sides to Drake’s OVO Sound label, but they are working on new music.
Talks of Meek Mill signing to Drake have been heating up over the past few weeks after the two rappers made peace. Back in September, Drizzy brought out Meek at his “Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour” stop at the TD Garden in Boston. That move shocked everyone since in a recent interview he made it clear that he doesn’t want to be friends with the Philly rapper again.
Nevertheless, the two rappers seem to be very happy about making peace and becoming friends once again. Over the past two weeks, we’ve heard whispers that Meek Mill is set to sign with Drake’s OVO Sound. The Dreamchaser rapper posted some photos of himself rocking an OVO chain, and that only further fueled the rumors. Sources close to the Philly rhymer told Urban Islandz on Thursday that the stories are not accurate, but the two rap titans are working on music together.
“Meek signing to OVO is not accurate, and matter of fact he couldn’t just sign to them even if he wanted to because of other contractual obligations,” sources revealed. “What I can say is that you can expect some long-awaited music from Meek and Drizzy. It’s long overdue, this reunion is a long time coming, and you could see the eager in their demeanor when they start recording music together once again. It’s going to be dope, and this is good for the culture.”

Meek Mill and Drake history of friendship turn into foe dated back at least half a decade ago. The two rap stars were once close friends until one night in the summer of 2015, Meek went on a Twitter rant ousting the Toronto rapper as a fraud who uses ghostwriters to write his raps. The accusations angered Drake to the point where it spawned two vicious diss records including the Grammy-nominated single “Back To Back” which became an anthem that summer.
Everyone thought that Meek would never recover from the whooping Drake handed to him in the studio, but here we are at the end of 2018, and they are not only friends again but are making music together again, Meek Mill is currently readying his new album, due sometime soon.
