Canadian rapper Jon James has died.
The full details of his death are not yet known but here is what we know. Jon James, 34, was trying to do a stunt on a plane wing where he was trying to walk on the wing while rapping for a music video. Things went horribly wrong, and he died in the tragic accident. The Canadian rapper is also known for his daredevil stunts, but one stunt last Saturday in Vernon, British Columbia, would prove to be his last, CNN reported.
A rep for the rapper confirmed in a statement that he was trying to pull off a dangerous stunt for a music video for his single “The Man.” “He died filming for a project he had been working on for months,” he raps. “His final act included performing an airplane stunt that included rapping while walking on the wing. As Jon got further out onto the wing of the plane, it caused the small Cessna to go into a downward spiral that the pilot couldn’t correct. Jon held onto the wing until it was too late, and by the time he let go, he didn’t have time to pull his chute. He impacted and died instantly.”
Jon James, whose real name is Jon James McMurray, is survived by his wife, a brother, and his parents.
R.I.P. Jon.
