Cardi B remains tight-lipped about the title of her upcoming album which arrives next month.
The “Bartier Cardi” rapper announced last night that he debut LP is coming in April but she didn’t reveal the title of the project. Her admission of the approximate release date is still good enough for her fans after months of secrecy and accusations that she is waiting on Nicki Minaj to drop first. Last week, she barked at some fans who suggested just that saying she isn’t waiting on anyone and her album is coming real soon.
Some fans went a step further to ask her for the title of the project while some speculate on the possible title. “Offset,” “Onset,” “Bodak All Day,” “Bacardi,” “I Am Cardi B,” are just a few of the names being thrown around. Still, she remains tight-lipped about the album title as a strategy to build more anticipation surrounding the release date of her highly anticipated debut.
Cardi B defied the odds last year when she shot to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her debut single “Bodak Yellow.” The song was one of the biggest tracks on the planet last year and even earned her a Grammy nomination. All of that hype put a lot of pressure on her to prove that she is not a one-hit wonder and she already did that with the success of her second solo single “Bartier Cardi” featuring 21 Savage which peaked at No. 14 on the chart and is currently bubbling at No. 26.
Noe the pressure is on for her to drop an entire body of work full of bangers. Cardi B previously said on social media that she will take her time to make sure that her album is perfect because she isn’t about to drop anything that will flop. Considering that her rival Nicki Minaj has a new album on the way, Bardi has been taking her time to get it right.
