Drake is on a giving spree in Miami.
The 6 God is in South Florida this week to shoot a music video for “God’s Plan” but he felt charitable and ended up giving away at least $150,000. After giving a $50,000 check to University of Miami student Destiny James to help pay her tuition, Drake then went and give away another $50,000 to Miami’s Lotus House Women’s Shelter. He also donated gifts like toys and $150 Target gift cards among other things.
The Toronto rapper also gave $25,000 Miami Senior High School where he shot part of the music video and promise to redo their uniform designed by his OVO team. After doing all of that, Drake then went on a random act of kindness by buying groceries for shoppers at the Sabor Tropical grocery store in Miami. He reportedly spent another fifty grand in the grocery store.
Drake released his Scary Season EP last month with two new singles “Diplomatic Immunity” and “God’s Plan.” The later broke Apple Music and Spotify single day streaming record and debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single received 68 million streams in the first week and continues to show strong streaming and will likely return to the No. 1 spot next week.
