Bob Marley’s grandson Skip Marley joins the lineup of this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
Skip is billed for day one of the annual music festival which usually pulls a massive crowd to Coachella Valley in mid-April. This show is set to take place on the weekend’s of April 13th to 15th and 20th to 22nd. This year’s Coachella is headline by Eminem, Beyonce, and hot new rapper Cardi B. Last year Beyonce pulled out of the event because of her pregnancy, but her fans will get a chance to see her in action for the first time in over a year.
Skip Marley had a great had a great year last year with a few solo hits as well as a guest spot on Katy Perry’s song “Chained To The Rhythm. Last year he released solo singles like “Lions” and “Calm” down which were all well received.
Last year, the single “Lion” was featured in a controversial Pepsi advertisement which was pulled by the company after getting backlash on social media. Some fans accused Pepsi of being toned deaf amidst a period of heightened racial tension between the police force and African Americans. Kendell Jenner also starred in the same ad and she too received some backlash.
