Fergie will be on FOX’s new show “The Four” as the host.
There were some talks that the former Black Eyed Peas singer/rapper would be joining the show as a judge but now she has confirmed via a video on Instagram that she will be the host. The judges for the new talent show includes Sean “Diddy” Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor and Charlie Walk, so Fergie is the icing on the cake among some big name stars.
“I am very excited and proud to be the host of The Four: Battle for Stardom,” Fergie said Monday in a statement. “This is a unique and modern show format that I believe will set the standard for the next generation of singing competition series on TV. I am looking forward to being by the contestants’ sides during what could be the most important performances of their lives. Along with these amazing panelists whom I know and love, I hope my experiences as a solo artist and as a member of The Black Eyed Peas can help guide them in their quest to make it in the music industry.”
The Four has been dubbed the next big hit in talent TV show since American Idol came to an end in 2015. That show will be revived on ABC in March of next year, so this means that American Idol and The Four will likely go head to head for ratings. The show premieres on January 4th and will be aired live every Thursday for a once a week episode series.
“Fergie is a genuine superstar,” Fox president alternative programming and specials, Rob Wade, said. “She’s fierce, she’s a force in her own right and she knows exactly what these singers are going through. So who better than her to help guide them as they fight their way to the finish.”
