You can always count on T.I. to lend his voice for a cause and this time he himself was impacted.
The Southern rap legend lead a protest against the famous Houston’s Restaurant in Atlanta over their alleged discriminatory practices against African Americans. The restaurant has been accused of racial discrimination on social media and a lot of the local celebrities have backed up the claims made by other patrons. TIP took to his Instagram page yesterday to let his fans know that he will be taking action against the famous food joint.
“Ok so I’ve heard 4 different stories from 4 different sources about discrimination against US at 2 separate Houstons Steakhouse locations in my city. Tomorrow we get answers. #HoustonsWeHaveAProblem,” T.I. wrote. The Hustle Gang rapper made good on his promised so he along with his wife Tiny and a group of individuals converged in front of the Houston’s Restaurant location on Lenox Road. The group had plaque cards that reads no to racism and yelled “Whose City! Our City!”
In 2015, a local Atlanta attorney sued Houston’s Restaurant for racial discrimination. T.I. posted a screenshot of that news where he added in the caption, “This is nothing new. Just wanna show support to all the people who’ve ever felt profiled or discriminated against at this establishment. WE WILL NOT accept this in our city. You may not care for US personally… BUT U WILL RESPECT THE POWER OF OUR DOLLAR!!!! #ShutItDown #HoustonsWeHaveAProblem #BoycottHoustons #USorELSE.”
