Vybz Kartel Gives Dutch Lamont A Huge Buzz

These days when an upcoming dancehall artist wants to get some buzz they look towards Vybz Kartel.

Although he has been incarcerated for six years, Vybz Kartel remains one of the most relevant artists in dancehall locally and worldwide. Because of that popularity, a lot of new and old acts are lining up for a collaboration with the Gaza deejay. UK-based artist Dutch Lamont is one such artist who recently worked with Vybz Kartel and is currently getting a huge buzz for the single “Woman A Cry For Me.”

“The song is burning up mixtapes in the UK and even in the dances, so it’s really a good look,” Lamont said. “We shot scenes for the video in May, so, next week, we are going to add a few more dancing scenes, and release the video this month. I have been doing music for years now, and I am very excited to see that I am finally making progress.”

The British based deejay says he has been friends with Vybz Kartel for over two decades so the collaboration wasn’t a difficult one. Dutch Lamont also added that he has been recording music since the early 1990s and even performed with Vybz Kartel on Sting back in those days before migrating to the UK in 1999. Vybz Kartel is currently awaiting his appeal trial which is scheduled to get underway in February next year.
