Remy Ma gave some more insight into what triggered her beef with Nicki Minaj that lead to that infamous diss track “shETHER.”
The Love and Hip Hop New York star sat down on Wendy Williams show with Fat Joe to promote their new project Plato O Plomo, but she also touched on her hatred for Nicki Minaj. The Young Money rapper has not responded to the diss track, even after Remy Ma released a second song which earned her some backlash from some quarters of the rap community.
In her defense, Remy Ma says that Nicki Minaj has been actively working behind the scenes to sabotage her career, in her own words “stop her bag.” “When you’re trying to stop my bag, when you’re trying to stop me from taking care of my children, now I have a problem with that,” the Terror Squad rapper said. “I feel that it’s weird because she’s been doing this to a lot of females … and no one says anything.”
Remy Ma didn’t gave any specifics on what Nicki Minaj did to negatively affect her career, but she did point to Nicki’s feuds with other female musicians like Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus. Lil’ Kim, Taylor Swift and more. What was even more hilarious was her all black outfit like she was going to a funeral or church. She ended with this statement to solidify her point.
“I came dressed appropriately for the services,” she added. “I know I’m petty, but so what? My grandmother told me never to speak ill of the dead.”
It’s unlikely that Nicki Minaj will respond to any of Remy Ma diss tracks, so Foxy Brown took it up on herself to go after the Bronx femcee with her own diss track. Either way there seems to be no clear winner in all of this.
