Rae Sremmurd could score a classic hit with “Black Beatles” climbing back the charts and could hit No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 thanks to the Mannequin Challenge.
“Black Beatles” has become the standard soundtrack for most Mannequin Challenge these days after getting an infamous cosign from a real life Beatles, Paul McCartney. The track features a guest appearance from Gucci Mane and was released in September as a single off the group’s album “SremmLife 2.”
After McCartney gave the song a co-sign in his Mannequin Challenge, Billboard confirmed that the track is doing so well that it could knock Chainsmokers’ “Closer” off the top spot on the Hot 100 chart. An official report from Billboard should be on its way given the surge in popularity of the song. But “Closer” still is doing exceptionally well with radio airplay while “Black Beatles” saw a resurgence in digital streaming and sales.
By tomorrow we should know if Rae Sremmurd earned themselves a Billboard No. 1 song.
