Rihanna has an upcoming major role in a big budget Sci-Fi film name Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, by famed director Luc Besson.
Bessen made the announcement via his Twitter and Instagram page on Wednesday. The film was first announced in May of this year and according to Variety, Rihanna will join a cast that already includes Cara Delevigne (Paper Town, Suicide Squad), Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Green Goblin), and Clive Owens from (Closer).

Valerian is based off a graphic French novel and is set in the 28th century when time travel was discovered.

Rihanna is currently building her acting resume after previously starring in Battleship and the animated movie Home.
Filming for Valerian will begin in January of next year while the box office opening date is set for July 21, 2017.
