Controversial dancehall star Vybz Kartel is schedule to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court today to answer to murder and weapons charges.
Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was expected to make his first court appearance on Tuesday (October 4), but that was rescheduled because the case file did not reach the court office in time.
On Monday, Vybz Kartel was charged by Jamaican law enforcement with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of firearm. There is no word yet from the deejay’s attorney, Christian Tavares-Finson, regarding the charges. However yesterday he said he had not received any correspondence from prosecutors
“I guess in due time I will see something,” Tavares-Finson said.
Yesterday telecom giant LIME announced their withdrawal from Vybz Kartel’s reality show Teacha’s Pet as main sponsor.
