Reggae singer/songwriter Chris Martin recently launched his own record label and is about to release his first rhythm.
Martin said he will be releasing a new single on the Quality Time rhythm featuring veteran entertainer Ghost. The singer now turn producer will also be releasing tracks from D-Major, Ce’Cile’, Ikaya, St Lucian singer Claudia, and himself on the rhythm.
“I am very enthusiastic about it,” Martin said of the release. “I want to make it a comeback for Ghost.” Ghost, a member of the Monster Shock Crew as they were called back in the 1990s, has been absent for sometime from the forefront of the entertainment scene.
“I love music and I like being involved in the creative process. I am also actively involved in the production of my own songs, so with this creation of my own label, I can now do it for others,” he said.
This new label also represents an additional feather in the cap of the young singer who is also busy touring and recording. His song Paper Loving has been rapidly gaining traction in Jamaica.
“It’s just catching on here in Jamaica,” he says, explaining that the song has already realised much success in Europe, Africa and the wider Caribbean.
