Former Portmore Empire artist Black Ryno is venturing in new waters with the launch of his own label “Garrison Records.”
Ryno gave us the signal last year in a brief interview, but only now making it official. In a statement send to the media, Ryno said he is looking beyond being a regular artiste.
“There are many aspects to music and you have to think beyond just being an artiste. At some point in time a new wave of young talent is going to take over. So creating my own label is just another way I intend to contribute positively to the development of the industry. Making music is good, but as I have come to learn, the industry is more about the business than the music itself and many artistes fail to recognise that.”
Kaliba, who have a collaboration with Ryno in circulation, is the second official signed artiste to the newly launch label.
“The song with me and Kaliba is doing very well in the Caribbean and I plan to shoot a video for it, just look out for some great things from Garrison Records,” Ryno said.
