Dancehall deejay Black Ryno was a no show in court on Thursday, but for a good reason.
Ryno, whose real name is Romane Anderson, was unable to attend court as a result of his injuries from a recent motor cycle accident. As a result of his no show, his court date was pushed back to January 20.
Ryno’s lawyer informed the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court that his client had a doctor’s appointment and could not attend. His bail was extended and he is to return to court on January 20 when the matter will be mentioned as his file is incomplete.
Ryno was charged with Assault and wounding stemming from an incident with Corey Todd. Reports are that on Wednesday, September 29, Corey Todd, who is a business partner of Portmore Empire leader Vybz Kartel, had an altercation with Ryno at a supermarket in Kingston, where its alleged that Todd was threatened by Ryno.
Both ended up in a brawl which resulted in Todd getting wounded by Ryno who was in possession of a knife. Ryno was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and the possession of an offensive weapon.
It’s also alleged that Corey Todd’s wife Shemara Todd attacked Black Ryno’s girlfriend Anika McDonald, resulting in charges of assault against her. Shemara Todd is to face a judge on those charges.
