Famed J.O.P deejay Deablo has become the latest in a selected group of local entertainers who continue to push the musical boundaries to gain recognition on the international arena.
The ‘Run Road’ singer whose given name is Romeo Nelson is currently featured on American rapper 50 Cent official website THISIS50.COM, where his newly released video for the hardcore single ‘Who Dem’ was reviewed by New York’s Hot 97 broadcaster ‘Star’ from the popular ‘Star & Bucwild Show’.
The U.S broadcaster lauded the Jamaican deejay as his ‘new favourite Dancehall act’ stating that aside from his distinctive style and lyrical prowess, Deablo appears to be one of the new wave to dancehall stars changing the game.
In response to the feature Deablo says, “It’s always a good look to get recognition from the international community… big up 50 Cent and Star!, I just released the video so it was a pleasant surprise to see it making an impact already.”
Back on local soil following stints across the Caribbean territories of Barbados, Trinidad, French Guiana, St. Vincent, Martinique, Grenada and Suriname, Deablo is presently promoting his newest video ‘Road Runner’ directed by RD Studio. Produced by Blackspyda Records this is the follow-up to his recent and first ever No.1 single ‘Run Road’ featuring fellow label-mate Aidonia.
Later this month he’s scheduled to appear on the highly publicised Reggae Sumfest and Smirnoff Dream Weekend alongside mentor Aidonia.
