Young Money honcho Lil Wayne has stepped forward to address questions regarding the recent fiasco between his artist Nicki Minaj and Hot 97 Summer Jam.
Earlier this month, Wayne pulled Nicki Minaj from the show after Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg disrespected the “Starships” rapper just moments before she was schedule to take the stage.

During an interview with MTV News at Birthday Bash 17 in Atlanta, Lil Wayne says Nicki Minaj and other females deserve the ultimate respect.
“That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female,” Weezy says. “I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times, no matter when or where or how.”
“As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything,” said Lil Wayne. “I pulled her from the show because … no person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.”
While there is no grudge, Lil Wayne says he feels he made the right executive decision to pull Nicki Minaj from the show.

“It’s just an executive move, no salt, no bad feelings, no hard feelings,” Tunechi says. “I feel like a woman’s supposed to be respected at all times, therefore I believe I made the right decision.”
