Reggae music will open a new chapter when In.Digg.Nation Collective presents an unprecedented “all-female juggling.'”
Sunday, November 3, is the date set for the first-ever “New Wave Block Party.” The New Wave brand, however, is no newcomer to the scene. It was known for its acoustic performances and chill vibes with a lot of budding talents showcasing their gift. Now it seems a block party version of that vibe will be premiered in conjunction with the new “Rock & Groove Riddim” and the fans are excited.
The instrumental, that features an all-female artiste lineup, was produced by Protoje and J Vibe Music. The Rock & Groove Riddim features the likes of Lila Iké, Sevana, Naomi Cowan, and the budding starlet Jaz Elise. A beat dominated by females was never commonplace in the industry, so praises must be sent to Protoje and J Vibe for making this statement, and we certainly wish this project all the best!
But do we need to? Lila Iké’s voice and energy, Sevana’s range, Naomi’s soul, and Jaz Elise’s new age spin on it all should be a treat for all patrons. The New Wave Block Party will also feature popular Food Trucks from in and around Kingston to satisfy all patrons, with the aim to keep the cravings 100% music. This block party is giving the feel of a mini-festival as it will also feature a gallery display from one of Jamaica’s finest photographer and creative director Yannick Reid (@thetherapistol). Merchandise from the artistes present will also be on sale with constant music and marijuana rounding out the lineup.
Itopia Life will be the venue for this lovely event. If you are looking for tickets, you can purchase them for JM$1500 at the venue, or you can grab your tickets online.
The new wave is back with a new vibe, a new feel, and we can’t wait until November 3 to experience it. Keep up with @newwaveja and @itopialife for more details as we get closer to this event. I definitely can’t wait, can you?
