Drake has everyone speculating if he is out of his Cash Money deal.
The 6 God often dropped hints in his songs about the end of his era with Cash Money Records, but nothing has never been confirmed. After dropping off his new singles “Omertà” and “Money In The Grave” last weekend, there is renewed interest about where his music calls home. Apple Music listed the songs under the label Frozen Moments. Earlier this year, rumors surfaced claiming that Drake has ended his deal with Cash Money after delivering his final album, Scorpion. A new label was registered in the months leading up to the end of his contracted called Frozen Moments.
Drake nor Cash Money has never commented on the speculations, but now we have more conclusive proof that the Toronto rapper is no longer working with Birdman and company. There are still some confusions surrounded the issue, since Spotify is still listing the songs under Cash Money, while TIDAL and Apple Music listed the copyright label as Frozen Moments. Perhaps Spotify engineers haven’t got around to make the changes.
Last year, Drake rapped on his album Views about getting out of his deal after delivering one more album. He wasn’t joking about that. He also rapped about wanting to get a $500 million record deal.
