Offset escape with no jail time in his iPhone smashing case.
The Atlanta rapper can now breathe a sigh of relief after prosecutors decided to drop the case against him. You can recall that last month a warrant was issued for Offset‘s arrest after he smacked a phone out of a fan hand inside a Target store in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
The fan was taking a video of the Migos rapper who was in the store shopping with his friend. The iPhone fell to the ground, and the screen cracked. The fan, whose name is Junior Gibbon, filed charges and a warrant was issued for Offset’s arrest.
Gibbons said he didn’t want the rapper to go to jail over it; he just wanted him to pony up the cost of a new phone. It appears that the “Kulture” rapper got Gibbons what he wanted and they both went their separate ways. TMZ reported that the prosecutor then decided not to pursue any criminal charges.
