Looks like Mac Miller did some recording with Young Thug prior to his untimely death.
A snippet of an unreleased Mac Miller and Young Thug song has surfaced online. The authenticity of the track is not yet known, but sources with inside knowledge say it’s one hundred percent real. Miller died in September of this year from an apparent drug overdose. He was working on a new project before his death, and during the weeks before his passing, he recorded a handful of new music including a song with Thugger.
Mac Miller’s longtime manager and close friend, Quentin Cuff, posted the snippet of the song on Twitter while noting that the rapper did not get to hear the full song before his death. Cuff added that there is another song with Gunna on it. “There’s one with Mac Thug and Gunna too,” he tweeted.
“Crazy that Mac was waiting to even hear these songs in full,” Cuff added in another retweet. “He was so excited for these to come out. I love you bro.”
The big question now is whether or not Mac Miller’s fans will get to hear these unreleased music in a posthumous album or mixtape similar to XXXTentacion’s “SAD!” Friends and family of the late rapper paid tribute to him last month at a tribute concert at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
