50 Cent has commented on Lil Wayne and Birdman reunion saying it’s a real “hip-hop moment.”
Lil Wayne and Birdman reunited and hugged it out at Liv Nightclub in Miami last weekend. There are a lot of speculations around the reunion with some fans questioning if its legitimate and if Weezy received his $51 million from Cash Money, which is the heart of the contention between the two father and son like figures in hip-hop. 50 Cent thinks it doesn’t matter if you like it or not, it’s a moment in hip-hop that’s good for the culture.
“@liltunechi & @birdman5star this is a real HipHop moment, HATE IT or LOVE IT you can’t stop it,” the G-Unit legend wrote. 50 Cent is known to talk trash about other rappers on social media, so it’s refreshing to see him post something positive about two legends in the game. It was only a week ago he was trolling Rick Ross while he was in a hospital fighting for his life. He got some pushback for that so perhaps he is listening to his disgruntled fans.
Earlier this week, video clips surfaced online showing Lil Wayne and Birdman hugging it out and chopping it up. The Cash Money honcho’s son Birdman Jr. was also in the club with the pair. Just last week he and Weezy were spotted partying at the same club for his 21st birthday.
Lil Wayne and 50 Cent have beefed in the past. During a 2016 Interview, Fifty shared his feelings on why he thinks Weezy is getting so many requests for features where he called the New Orleans rapper a “wh*re.” In his 2007 single “Part Time Lover” 50 Cent took shots at both Lil Wayne and Birdman over that infamous photo of them kissing. “You make me wanna kiss you like Baby kiss Wayne / And make you call me daddy like Baby do Wayne,” he raps.
Seems all of that is now water under the bridge.
