Nicki Minaj gets featured on Lil Wayne‘s new mixtape “Dedication 6.”
Weezy tapped his female protege on the single “5 Star” which is the 5th single on the project due on Christmas Day. Aside from Nicki Minaj, you will find guest verses from Gudda Gudda, Baby E, Euro, Corey Gunz, and Zoey Dollaz for the 15-track mixtape. The project will be released to his fans for free and will be available on Dapiff among other services that host mixtapes.
This is only the latest in a number of collaborations between Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj who has collaborated on several singles in the past. This year alone, the Young Money rappers collaborated on three singles including a track with David Guetta, “Light My Body Up.”
Lil Wayne has been working on the mixtape since last year and now its finally here. The New Orleans rapper’s new music has been significantly slowed since his fallout with his former friend and mentor Birdman three years ago. Weezy is suing Cash Money for $51 million and also want a judge to relieve him from his contract with the label. The ongoing legal battle between the two has resulted in the shelving of Wayne’s album Tha Carter V.
Both Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj posted the tracklist for “Dedication 6” on Instagram on Sunday, just hours before the release of the mixtape. There are also talks that the mixtape will come in a two-part project because the rap legend recorded too many songs to fit on one album. The tracklist released so far on shows 15 songs, which means a second disc could come tomorrow with another dozen or more new singles. Before he dropped D6, Lil Wayne released two new singles which are remixes for JAY-Z’s “The Story Of OJ” and 21 Savage’s “Bank Account.” Check out the tracklist below.
