Did JAY-Z Responds To Beyonce Cheating On “4:44” Single

JAY-Z new album 4:44 is now here exclusively on TIDAL and it’s already stirring up some controversy.

The good folks on Twitter thinks the JAY-Z is responding to Beyonce’s Lemonade album, specifically her cheating allegations on the title track of his new album. Hov didn’t just admitted his infidelity, he also apologize to Beyonce for his past mistakes in the powerful heartfelt song that he said that he woke up at 4:44 AM in the morning to wrote. “Look, I apologize, often womanize / Took for my child to be born / See through a woman’s eyes,” JAY-Z raps.

“‘4:44? is a song that I wrote, and it’s the crux of the album, just right in the middle of the album,” JAY-Z said. “And I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 AM, to write this song. So it became the title of the album and everything. It’s the title track because it’s such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I’ve ever written.”

The entire single lyrics is about JAY-Z’s relationship with Beyonce and even has a reference to Bey’s famous line on Lemonade about “Becky with the good hair.” There are also reference about his daughter Blue Ivy Carter. “And if my children knew, I don’t even know what I would do / If they ain’t look at me the same / I would prolly die with all the shame / You did what with who? / What good is a ménage à trois when you have a soulmate? / You risked that for Blue?” Hov raps.

The entire album 4:44 was produced by No I.D. and comes with 10 tracks with guest features from Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Frank Ocean, and JAY-Z’s mother Gloria Carter. Hov also released some video footage in support of the album starring Mahershala Ali, Danny Glover, and Lupita Nyong’o.
