Gorillaz is back with a new album coming on Tuesday and Popcaan has a big role to play on the new project.
The gang drop a new animated video for their single “Saturnz Bars” featuring Popcaan on the weekend. The new album is titled Humanz and is set for release on April 28. Gorillaz have been only represented on the screen as four animated characters name 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. The band was founded by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett in 1998 and has been a huge hit ever since.
The animated video features the four characters pulling up to an abandon house to rest and found themselves in a haunted whirlwind. The hilariously haunting clip features a giant snake and a pizza rapping Popcaan lines. You can also find some highlights from Gorillaz songs with Savages’ Jehnny Beth and Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, D.R.A.M., and Vince Staples. The album Humanz will also see guest features from the likes of Danny Brown, Pusha T, Grace Jones, De La Soul and more.
