Nadine Sutherland was one of Bob Marley’s protege before his passing in 1981.
Sutherland, who is an icon in reggae/dancehall music, sat down with Winford Williams of OnStage where she opened up about starting her career as a child and her relationship with the late king of reggae music.
“I had a personal relationship with Bob, some people know me from ‘Action’ but those who really really know Nadine Sutherland would know that my start was from a little girl, from being in high school, winning talent competitions, and being Bob’s little protege before his transition,” she said.
“I am a product of what Bob has started because the legacy of Tuff Gong was one where Bob wanted young artists,” she added.
Sutherland is now the ambassador of the upcoming One Love reggae festival.
