Rihanna and Demarco got a new dancehall banger coming.
The moment we have all been waiting for: Rihanna might FINALLY have new music on the way. The Navy is freaking out after a Rihanna fan account revealed that the singer registered a new song called “Private Loving” with Jamaican dancehall artist Demarco as a feature. The record was registered with her music publisher BMI and gives writing credits to RiRi, Demarco, and British songwriter Monique Lawz.
The logistics align with the swirling rumors that Rihanna is supposedly dropping a reggae project sometime this year. Now when exactly any new tunes from the Barbados diva is coming has yet to be revealed.
Monique Lawz may have slipped up and confirmed the rumor on her social media as well. In a tweet sent out Saturday that has since been deleted, she retweeted the stan account’s discovery with the caption “I CANNOT BREATHE!!!!” A screenshot of Demarco talking about the new track via Instagram DMs had also circulated online.

So all we need now is a confirmation from Rihanna herself who hasn’t dropped an album since Anti in 2016. In today’s music climate, three years is an awfully long time to keep fans waiting for new music. The Fenty Beauty owner has heard her fans outrage, though, and even trolled the Navy’s impatience with a Karlie Redd meme last month.
This latest news is the closest we’ve got to actual details of new music, making fans desire it that much more.
