Lizzo is under fire for seemingly suggesting that Future and Swae Lee are not rappers.
In some tweets that she has since deleted and clarified, Lizzo namedrops Future and Swae Lee saying that they’re both not rappers in the same sense that fans say she is not a rapper. She expressed her anger at folks who suggest that she is not a hip hop artiste but more so an R&B singer. The “Truth Hurts” singer/rapper also reminded her critics that she has the number four song in the entire country.
“Sometimes I get pissed that there are people who call future & swae lee rappers and still question whether or not I belong in the rap conversation…,” she tweeted. “But then I remember I have the #4 song in the country, laugh, go back to my dream job and log off.”
The messages on Twitter has since been deleted following some massive backlash from fans of both Future and Swae Lee. Lizzo has since clarified that she loves both rappers, but her message might’ve flown over the heads of some fans.

“I LOVE future & swae bruhhhhhh… the point went straight over y’ alls heads… I’m just saying we all share a similar rap sing style…,” Lizzo added on Twitter while telling fans to go and stream Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” and Future’s “The Wizrd.”
