ASAP Rocky is fighting for his freedom in Sweden as he faces up to 6 years in prison over a street brawl.
According to A$AP Ferg, who spoke out about the case on his IG page, Rocky is currently being held in solitary confinement and is not allowed any visitors or phone calls. The Harlem rapper was arrested on June 30 for a street fight between his entourage and another man. ASAP Rocky’s is being held without bond, and his court hearing is set for two weeks from now.
His attorney, Henrik Olsson Lilja, filed an appeal to challenge the district court’s decision to hold him without bond because he is a possible flight risk, but that motion was denied by Sweden’s Supreme Court, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP). Rocky now has limited to no options than to remain behind bars for two more weeks before knowing his fate.
While he is waiting behind bars, the Harlem rapper is losing money from his canceled shows in Britain, Norway, Poland, and Ireland. A$AP Rocky has more upcoming shows that he might be forced to cancel if law enforcement decides to lay charges against him. A$AP Ferg also seems very worried about his comrade.
“He’s in Sweeden[sic] locked up in solitary confinement with no visit or phone call privileges,” Ferg wrote. “They are trying to keep him there for 2 weeks and if convicted he will be looking at 6 years just for defending himself in a fight. He was no way in form the aggressor in this ordeal. Pray for justice #freeflacko.”
