Alkaline is starting 2019 with a bang.

The Vendetta Boss hits a milestone one million subscribers on YouTube last week, making him the second dancehall artist to cross the million mark. Alkaline nemesis, Vybz Kartel is close behind with 944K subscribers and Spice has 731K. Some reports are floating around claiming that Alkaline is the first dancehall artist to reach one million subscribers on YouTube, but Sean Paul achieved that milestone a while back. SP currently has over 1.4 million subscribers and counting.

Alka has proven himself to be a dominant force in dancehall over the past couple of years. The “Juggernaut” deejay has been in a heated rivalry with Vybz Kartel, and their respective fans all thinks that they are the better of the two.

Vybz Kartel was the most streamed dancehall artist on YouTube in Jamaica last year, and he did it from behind bars, but Alkaline released far less music than he did and the Vendetta deejay’s songs are racking up some big numbers on the video sharing platform.

Both Alkaline and Kartel are working on projects due sometime this year. We’re told Alka’s sophomore album is coming this year and the incarcerated deejay confirmed last fall that his new album Exiled Pharoah is coming soon.
