Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in New York City on Wednesday for an outstanding warrant.
NYPD has since confirmed the arrest that took place this morning at the John F. Kennedy International Airport. Tekashi 6ix9ine was picked up by law enforcement officials just moments after he stepped off a flight after concluding his overseas tour, TMZ reported. The rainbow-haired rapper was taken into police custody over an outstanding warrant stemming from an incident in Houston, Texas, where he got into an altercation at the Galleria Mall.
Police wanted 6ix9ine for allegedly choking out a 16-year-old at the mall back in January of this year. His management team says they were aware of the warrant and had been planning to address it. It seems the cops patient ran out before the “Kooda” rapper got around to address it.
The rapper’s team also argued that New York cops should not have arrested him for a misdemeanor crime in another state.
A video of the incident was posted on YouTube showing a part of what went down. “After choking me Tekashi69 decided to hold me until I deleted the video of me recording him,” the teenager said. “Keep in mind that’s my family and I’m only 16.”
