Troy Ave is getting hammered on Twitter for “snitching” on TaxStone in “2 Legit 2 Quit” video.
On Thursday, Troy Ave released a graphic animated video for his White Christmas 5 mixtape cut “2 Legit 2 Quit.” The video paints a graphic chronicle of what happened on that fateful day the New York rapper was shot multiple times. Urban Islandz reported in 2016 that Troy Ave was shot on Christmas Day in Brooklyn while heading towards a family party. Fortunately for him, he survived, but not without some physical and emotional scars.
Ave gave a step-by-step depiction of what happened on the day he got shot while sending a clear message to his shooter, that had he got his gun on his, things would have ended badly. He says he couldn’t carry a gun because of his probation. The same year, the rapper was shot in his leg from a self-inflicted wound during a shooting incident at a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza in New York City. His bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was killed in the attack. Podcaster and radio personality, TaxStone, real name Daryl Campbell, has been indicted for the shooting and is currently awaiting trial.
In his “2 Legit 2 Quit” video, an animated Troy Ave testified in court against TaxStone. In the clip, you can see him sitting in court while some unnamed individuals in court the middle finger. “Am only loyal to my family / Middle finger from the stands, is it me or you / I will send you back to hell,” he raps during that scene in the video.
Folks on Twitter are going in on Troy Ave for even hinting that he might have testified against TaxStone, the person who got indicted for killing his bodyguard and close friend. “Just seen Troy ave new video, idk why he just doesn’t testify against Tax Stone instead of using all these clever ways to tell the police,” one fan wrote.
