Vershon eyes the latin dancehall market with his brand new single “Te Amo.”
The track was recently released on the Dirty Memories Riddim, produced by Konsequence Music/J1 Productions. The dancehall deejay says the single has the potential to be a big hit especially among his female fan base. “I am currently working on a number of projects with an emphasis on Te Amo because of the feedback we have been getting,” Vershon said. “Right now, we will be launching an aggressive promotional campaign around it and others singles heading into the last quarter of the year. So, fans can look out for a lot of upcoming activities from me.”
Vershon says that the early feedback has been good so far and his team is currently pushing it in the overseas market particularly in Central and South America.
“The women are loving this song, and they love the Spanish vibe, especially the chorus with Te Amo. Right now, Latin America is a huge market for music. That region has seen a surge in Internet use, mobile-phone ownership, and social networking, so it would be a mistake to ignore that part of the market,” he added.
Vershon, who scored a number of hits in Jamaica over the past two year, says he is now focusing on the international market. Latin America has been seeing a big surge in music and media consumption and one of the genre gaining the most traction in that market is dancehall.
