French Montana and Swae Lee’s mega hit single “Unforgettable” has been certified triple platinum.
The track is one of the biggest singles this summer and has already spent 21 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart peaking at number three. Although the track was unable to overthrow the giants that are “Despacito” and “Wild Thoughts” for the top two spots, it is within it’s own right a classic. “Unforgettable” has been certified three times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
French Montana says that he knew the song was a hit from the first time he heard it played. “As soon as I heard the track, I knew it was a hit,” Montana told TIME. “I sat with it. I chopped it up the way I wanted it to be. I feel like that’s the one record that fits everybody: African vibe, reggae vibe, techno vibe, European vibe. That’s what you call a global hit.”
The Bad Boy rapper released his new album “Jungle Rules” on July 14 with guest appearance from Alkaline, The Weeknd, Future, Max B, Pharrell, Chinx, an Swae Lee on this single “Unforgettable.” What’s next for French Montana, perhaps touring and dropping another big hit like “Unforgettable.”
