Drake opens a second OVO flagship store in his hometown Toronto and also shoot the music video for his More Life single “Gyalchester” at the same location.
The 6 God has been having another phenomenal year in hip hop with a hugely successful tour and dropping one of the biggest albums this year, More Life, which debuts at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Now it’s time for him to get some business done. The new flagship store was opened at the Yorkdale Mall in Toronto on Friday. Thousands of fans turned out for the grand opening and some fans say that they are there from around 5 a.m.
The Yorkdale Mall is the fourth largest mall in Canada and is located approximately 10 miles from where Drake grew up in Forest Hill. Yorkdale publicist Adrienne Simic says over 1000 people had lined up from as early as 5:30 a.m. and more people converged on the mall when it opened at 9 a.m. Drake and his team already have stores in New York City, Los Angeles, and London. There are plans to open more stores in more major cities as the brand grows in popularity.
Drake is in Toronto for his annual OVO Festival and took the opportunity to shoot the video for “Gyalchester.” Some of the artists who will be performing at this year’s OVO Fest includes Majid Jordan, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Kranium, Dvsn, Roywood, Charly Black, Bunji Garlin, and Drake himself.
