Yesterday R. Kelly was a trending topic on Instagram after a damning report from Buzzfeed about the singer holding six young girls against their will in a “sex cult” like environment.
One of the young women is the daughter of the couple that filed the report. The report was disturbing enough to warrant a response from R. Kelly, as well as, the female in question who spoke with TMZ denying that she is held against her will. She didn’t disclosed where she is, but she said that she was okay and can leave anytime she wants.
“Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him,” Kelly’s lawyer, Linda Mensch, told Pitchfork in a statement. “Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
“We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life,” Mensch added. Sources say that R. Kelly is holding at least half a dozen ladies in a cult-like atmosphere where he dictates how they dress, what they eat, when they take a shower and other aspects of their lives.
