Vybz Kartel Music Sales Is Not Benefiting Murder Victim’s Family

Vybz Kartel music sales is not benefiting his murder victim, Clive “Lizard” Williams, family.

This is the latest segment of the ongoing controversy surrounding the Gaza Boss allegedly recording music in prison. Let’s be clear, both Vybz Kartel and his attorney Tom Tavares-Finson have denied the allegations. During his sentencing hearing, Kartel was given the option to record music but some of the profits from his recordings would go towards Williams’ family, but he declined that offer.

Tavares-Finson has confirmed that there were no ruling by Justice Lennox Campbell that Vybz Kartel can record music in prison nor proceeds from his music benefiting his victim’s family. “Campbell had made some enquires about it. He had enquired as to whether or not he could make such an order and I think he was told no,” Tavares-Finson said.

The attorney also added that he has no knowledge of Vybz Kartel recording music in prison. Earlier this week, State Minister for national security, Senator Pearnel Charles Jnr, enlist a team of lawyers and the Commissioner of Corrections Ina Hunter to clarify the laws that governs the production of music in prison.
