‘Heartcal Soul’ is the official title of the new album Lion D has been recording in Shengen Studio in Jamaica under Alborosie’s artistic production. The album will be released in October 2014.
In anticipation of the whole album, here is the first single called ‘Heartical Luv’, officially released last Friday May 9th. A music video will soon follow.
‘Heartical’, a word meaning heartfelt, ‘from the heart’ in Jamaican patois, is the key word of the new work of Lion D, which represents a turning point in his artistic career. For the first time the Italian-Nigerian singer decided to go to Jamaica to plunge himself into reggae culture as much as possible and to write songs in full Jamaican style. The result of this journey is this first single. bearing a message of universal love, the summery and cheerful tune ‘Heartical Luv’ is a ‘roots’ tune that intends to address not only his fan base, but also all thise professionals involved in the creative process of music.
As music is a very effective media due to the fact it can reach people’s soul it is vital that contents are not trifling or negative as they often are in the late years. On the contrary, lyrics have to be conscious so that they can uplift souls and raise them to a higher level. The mention goes to all minorities that have endured racism by means of isolation and abuse, both in Italy and abroad.
