Last Thursday night was a big night for the YMCMB/Cash Money family.
Nicki Minaj, Birdman, Slim and others were big winners at the 2013 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards at the Manhattan Center in New York City.
Nicki Minaj was honored with Songwriter of the Year award and Song of the Year for “Starships.”
The Trinidadian rapper shared the songwriter of the year award with Benny Blanco and Hit-Boy. Minaj also received accolades for her work on the singles “Girl On Fire,” “Dance (A$),” and “Make Me Proud.”

Cash Money Records founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams were the nights biggest winners with the 2013’s BMI Icon Award. The two brothers were recognized for their work in hip-hop since 1991.
Mystikal, Turk, Future, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Juvenile, and Mannie Fresh all participated in the tribute to Birdman and Slim.
This is the first time in years the labelmates Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Turk and the two brothers are on the same stage.
There are also rumors of a Hot Boys and Big Tymers reunion.
