Mavado could find himself in more legal troubles after a U.S. State Department official pleaded guilty to accepting bribe from the dancehall star to get back his visa.
According to the Alexandria District Attorney office, State Department Diplomatic Security Service, David J. Rainsberger, was bribed by the dancehall artist to help him acquire a United States visa.

David J. Rainsberger was stationed at the United States Embassy in Kingston at the time of the incident.
Prosecutors say Rainsberger received several gifts from the dancehall star including two watches worth over US$25,000, nighlcubs passes and special VIP passes to several events. Mavado also allegedly hosted a birthday party for the US official in Kingston.
The accusations doesn’t end there.
David J. Rainsberger also admitted that he illegally access State Department visa and passport databases and also got engaged to a Jamaican woman while still married to an American.

Rainsberger sentencing hearing is set for April 19. He is facing up to 7 years in prison for his crimes.
Mavado had his visa reinstated in the summer of 2011 and then got married to an American last year. The dancehall star is now living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
