Despite his very public apology to the gay community earlier this year, Beenie Man is still facing resistance from homosexuals internationally.
The Queer Humboldt gay rights organisation of Northern California are planning to come out in their numbers at an upcoming Beenie Man concert.

Todd Larsen, the group co-founder, told the Times-Standard.com that the show may have as much protestors as concert goers.
“We are not trying to stop or block the concert. We are just trying to share love and to share education,” Larsen said.
Larsen labeled some dancehall music as “murder music,” and claims that some lyrics by the likes of Beenie Man and Capleton call for the murder of gays.
Over the last decade several reggae/dancehall artistes like Beenie Man, Buju Banton, Capleton, and Sizzla Kalonji have been facing increased pressure from the gay community over some of their lyrics.
Earlier this year Beenie Man made a bold move to issue a public apology via YouTube to the gay community, a move many artists in dancehall called bowing down to homosexuals.

“I have nothing against no one,” Beenie Man said. “I respect each and every human being, regardless of which race, regardless of which religious belief you have, and regardless of which sexual preference you are, including gays and lesbians.”
“Do not fight against me for some songs I did 20 years ago,” Beenie Man added in the video.
