Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel returns to court today (October 29), to answer to a murder charge in relation to the shooting death of St. Catherine promoter/businessman, Barrington “Bossi” Burton.
According to police report, Burton was shot and killed last year summer in Gregory Park, St. Catherine while standing with a group of friends.
Burton is one of two murder charges Vybz Kartel is faced with. If found guilty he could spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The former Portmore Empire head is also charged with the murder of one of his alleged associate, Clive “Lizard” Williams. Police believes that Williams was murdered last year over a missing firearm.
Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, is also facing a slew of other charges including possession of illegal firearm and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Vybz Kartel along with two of his co-accused will appear before a Home Circuit Court judge in a short while.
