British comedian Russell Brand could face felony charges after he was arrested yesterday in New Orleans for smashing a fan’s iPhone.
According to TMZ, Brand turned himself in to New Orleans police after he allegedly snatched an iPhone from a paparazzi on Monday. Brand reportedly threw the phone through a plate glass window.
In Louisiana, you can be charged for felony for property damage that exceeds $500. The iPhone costs more than $500.
If convicted, Brand Hollywood actor could face up to 2 years in prison and may face deportation.
Shortly after the incident went viral, Brand post a joke on Twitter.
“Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory,” he tweeted
