A day after embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel was granted a $3 million bail in the Supreme Court on one of his murder, the deejay’s legal team failed to make application today on his second murder charge.
Vybz Kartel reported to the Corporate Area Resident magistrate’s Court earlier today expecting to walk free, however, his bail attempt was stalled by the prosecution, who revealed that certain documents relating to the case was not ready to be served on the defense.
Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey instructed the prosecution to hand over video and voide evidence to the defense no later than December 15.
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, will return to court on Monday December 19, when a bail attempt will be made by his defense.
This bail is in relation to his murder charge for the death of Clive “Lizard” Willaims, who police said was murdered by the deejay and co-accused Shawn Storm, Calvin Haye and Kiro Jones over an illegal gun.
Vybz Kartel is facing two murder charges, in addition to conspiracy to murder, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of ganja.
