Bob Marley, Rihanna, Kanye West Among Others Raise Awareness For African Crisis

Entertainment industry heavyweights including the late reggae legend Bob Marley, Bajan popstar Rihanna along with several celebs are supporting Save the Children social media campaign designed to raise awareness and funds to battle the devastating food crisis across East Africa.

A short film was release last week in support of the campaign, that include footage from East Africa set to the 1973 Bob Marley & The Wailers song “High Tide or Low Tide.”

Several other have since pledge their support including Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Eminem, Rihanna, Britney Spears, U2, Kanye West, Jennifer Lopez, Muhammad Ali, Muse, Coldplay, Lewis Hamilton, Bruno Mars, Robert Plant, Cristiano Ronaldo, Brian May and Sting, among many others.

“Not one child should be denied food nor water. Not one child should suffer,” Rita Marley said in a statement. “Along with Save the Children, we [must] stand up together as friends to put a stop to this, to feed our children and to save their lives.”

The campaign is estimated to reach close to 600 million people on Twitter and Facebook together.
