Reggae star Buju Banton’s lead attorney, David Markus, made good on his promise of an appeal.
Markus filed an appeal earlier this week challenging the 10 year sentenced imposed on the Grammy-winning reggae star.
Buju Banton, who is currently serving a 10 year sentence in Miami, could wait up to a year and a half to know if he will escape spending at least half the next decade behind bars.
Last month, Markus told reporters that he intends to appeal the sentencing under the grounds that there was not sufficient evidence to convict Banton on three counts of drug charges.
