Superstar singer Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon welcome their twins earlier today, which also happens to be their wedding anniversary.
Mariah Carey 42, gave birth to a twin boy and a girl weighing 5lbs each at approximately 12:07 p.m.
Shortly after the birth a rep wrote on Carey’s Twitter page, “Congratulations to Mariah & Nick on the birth of #dembabies!!”
“Born, April 30th at 12:07pm ET. Mommy, Daddy & #dembabies are all doing fine!” Cannon added his sentiments on his Twitter page: “My wife just gave me the most incredible anniversary gift ever in life! I won’t ever be able to top this!”
Carey’s rep says the singer was calm and relaxed as Cannon drove her to the hospital, but that he was nervous and frantic, even going to the wrong department in the hospital. “It was like right out of an I Love Lucy skit,” Berger told the Associated Press.
Carey’s hit song We Belong Together was played shortly after their twins were born.
The names of the babies was not made public.
