Police Pulled Plug On Vybz Kartel

Urban Islandz NEWS: Dancehall Hero Vybz Kartel’s highly anticipated “Colouring Book” party was cancelled by law enforcement officials in Jamaica.

A rep for the show told Urban Islandz that police instructed them to postponed the event because of public safety concerns.

“We were told by high rank police personel to cancel the show but no reasons was given apart from the assumption that the show will attract criminal elements,” the rep disclosed.

While it is unclear the police motives to believe criminal elements will be at the show, the number of recent incidents in dancehall sessions might have prompted law enforcement officials to take drastic actions.

Since the start of the year several incidents force the abandonment of shows across the island including the popular “Follow Di Arrow.”

The Colouring Book party was originally schedule for last weekend (April 15th) at the LIME Village in Portmore. Other artists booked for the show includes dancehall veteran Terror Fabulous, Macka Diamond, Macho Kid, Lady G, Venjance, Kibba Ranks, Johnny and Amanda Cat.

The rep also said some 3000 tickets have been sold and fans are instructed to return the ticket to places of purchase for a refund.
